8 cups water or 2 liters

1½ cups lentil or 250 g, green, cooked

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 large onion or 200 g, finely chopped

400 g minced beef

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 cubes MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon or 20 g

½ cup water or 125 ml, hot

1 medium carrot or 100 g, grated

1 cup raisins or 100 g

2 cups basmati rice or 400 g

3 tablespoons butter

1 medium onion or 120 g, sliced & fried, optional garnish


Boil lentils in 1000ml of Water until ¾ cooked, drain and set aside.

Heat vegetable oil, sauté chopped Onions, minced Meat until meat is cooked. Add Cinnamon and MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon , water and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add Carrots, Lentils and Raisins to the mix, and remove from heat.

Boil Rice for 10 to 15 minutes in remaining 1000ml water until ¾ cooked (al dente), drain and set aside.

Melt butter on the bottom of a rice pot, place 1/3 of the rice on top, layer half of the meat mixture, layer another 1/3 rice, the remaining meat mixture and cover with remaining 1/3 of the rice. Cover and cook for 20-30 minutes until rice is cooked.

Garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
